WELCOME

Welcome to Sealpoint Photo, a collection of photographs of Manchester, Salford and other parts of the UK by Alwyn Egginton. My photographs of Manchester and other areas try to take a novel, closer look than simple "record" photographs. I started to photograph Manchester and found it to be so rich in architectural interest that it has become the core of my photographic work.

It might be of passing interest to know what lies behind the person who has the nerve to put his snaps on the web. I was born far too long ago in the West Riding and studied art at Doncaster School of Art and Manchester College of Art. I taught for many years in  secondary schools before exchanging teaching for a life in picture framing and picture sales.

Photography was a minor part of my art education. It was only after being given a point-and-shoot digital camera - a Fujifilm 201 - that the bug caught hold. Now I sell my work -  taken on a  Nikon D80 - through my shop, Sealpoint, in Hale, Cheshire, concentrating on the architecture of the area and other bits of the UK. I hope you will be interested in the snaps I have taken and enjoy a trip around my patch.
